Can you follow the breadcrumbs? As a challenge to myself, every lyric contains a hint to the following song or artist.

"says, no blue eyed blondes back home believe in me."

"Detours, fences, I get defensive.
I know you've heard it all before,
I just stand by,
and let you fight your secret war."

"I poke my finger down inside
make a little room for an ant to hide
nature's candy in my hand,
or can, or pie."

"beautiful, beautiful, girl from the north,
you burn my heart, like a flickering torch."

"He said, in winter 1963 it felt like the world would freeze,
with John F. Kennedy and the Beatles"

"When I get, to the bottom,
I go back, to the top of the slide"

"Sweet Lucy was a dancer,
but none of us would chance her,
because she was a samurai"

"Maybe there's a lesson here,
in patience or in perseverance,
but it's hard to feel before my tea.."
(this is the only one that didn't make it to the charts somewhere)

I made the foolish mistake of not deciding the theme or the rules until I'd already selected a few songs. That made for a difficult back and fill job.
