eor | the weekend in summary

We left a little before 6am on Friday. The plan had been to get out of the house a little earlier, but there are always those last minute things to be done. The trip out was uneventful, which is good considering deer and stuff. We did get held up in Pennsylvania for an hour during the hottest part of the day because of construction.

We arrived around 7:30pm, visited with

cyberquail and James for a bit,

derien opened her birthday presents, and we had curry while watching Little Britain.

Saturday consisted of a visit with

cyberquail's mum, a hike to whet our appetite, a yummy brunch of sausage, spuds, and hot pepper omelets, driving around looking at houses, meeting David at a fun and relaxing concert, and ending with watching the meteor shower with SanBen.

Sunday there was another breakfast, this one a little lighter, then a trip to the faire. Much was seen at the fair, much was eaten (including things that are definitely not on my diet). Upon returning we had an absolutely scrummy pork curry and watched Monty Python's Holy Grail, extended remix version.

We snuck out on Monday morning at an obscenely early hour, trying not to wake anyone. Waking up on Monday morning is not a curse you wish to pass around. The trip home was uneventful, though hitting greater Boston rush hour traffic after being on the road for 11 hours is not particularly fun. We got home and quickly collapsed into bed.

It was a great time. The company was great. The food was great. It was rather a shock to go to work this morning.
