The older of the two drives in my windows box cowed the other day. I think it dates back to about 2000, so I'm not too surprised. It wouldn't boot and when I plugged it into

derien's computer as a second drive after an initial checkdisk it just hung the system. On a lark I put it in my FreeBSD box. FreeBSD was happy to mount the NTFS drive and allowed me to copy off the vast majority of the data, only two directories were really damaged.

Now I've reinstalled XP on the other drive and reinstalled the few applications that I still use in Windoze.

To the Shrub's current trials and tribulations: It couldn't happen to a nicer person. Warmonging creep.

I had today off because I had to use another day before year end. I spent most of it house cleaning or wasting time. But supper, Chicken in Hot Red Sauce with pappadums and basmatti rice is in its final stages.

I have tomorrow off for Veterans Day. If I actually get up and moving I may get my to do list finished off and be able to spend the real weekend ~~relaxing~~ working on some project.
