Where I've been
I haven't posted much lately. The reasons for this are manifold, some of which I'll cover in this post, some of which I won't.
Most prominent at this moment is Christmas season. That means mandatory six day work weeks with overtime sprinkled on the top. Last week it really hit. I've been coming home too exhausted to move and when I got home yesterday I had to rest a while to move up to babbling incoherently. No worries, it's only two more weeks and running a marathon every now and then makes you appreciate how easy it is to stroll.
Aside from work, I've been doing some programming here at home. Mostly little data gathering and conversion things. I've found that I can do programming when I don't have the mental capacity to talk in complete sentences. Strange.
I've also been working on converting more Project Gutenberg files into the format for the ebook. At some point I finished "The Canterbury Tales" footnotes. I've got 165 books formatted now. I've got another 109 in the folder waiting to be done, but most of those are prickly beasts that require a lot of changes. I've seen some that I'm interested in added to the PG catalog recently so I may download and format them first.
Right now I've got a script converting 20gigs of m4a files to mp3s, with tags and arrows and a paragraph on the back. It takes a long time to do anything to that much data.
Sleep has been in short supply and of below average quality. Dreams. Nightmares. Tossing and turning. Blah.
I have not found time to get into the Christmas spirit.
In short, no "time for heavy drinking, overeating, or casual sex with farm animals."
