the long memory

Utah Phillips is a old pacifist, anarchist, folk singer. Quoting his songs and stories is like eulogizing a rainbow, but sometimes I can't resist.
"He dreams of a village,
where the sun always shines.
He dreams of his family
when it comes Christmas time." -- "Dog Canyon"
"But don't you suppose,
if you burned down the bank,
you might flush a scoundrel or two?" -- "Pig Hollow"
"No matter how New Age you get,
old age gonna kick your ass." -- "Nevada City, California"
"With this for corporations,
and scorn for those elected.
Oh, I shall be an old bum,
loved but unrespected." -- "Stupid's Song" (this being a mono-digit salute)
Oh, I should probably go cook supper.
