I don't usually post an entire song because I find the mood doesn't translate well. I've only once had a series of song quotes hit the mark so impeccably that prose couldn't do better. That's not to say I have sufficient power of prose. Generally silence is my best avenue by far. But this morning I was driving to work listening to a song that not only fits the season but also my sense of humor and irony. Posting the whole thing would be boring, so I'll post the first bit of the male part and you can post the next bit in comment if you'd like.

The Pogues "Fairytale of New York"

"It was Christmas eve babe in the drunk tank.
An old man said to me, won't see another one.
And then we sang a song, the rare old mountain dew
I turned my face away, and dreamed about you
Got on a lucky one, came in eighteen to one,
I've got a feeling this year's for me and you.
So happy Christmas I love you baby,
I can see a better time when all our dreams come true."
