It is that time of year at work. I worked from 7am to 7:30pm today. Probably more of the same for much of this week. I did have Sunday off, so I was fresh going into it, by the end of the day Saturday I'll probably be quite spent. For the most part people at work just pitch in and do what need to be done until it's all done.

There is an older guy at work who is the person I'd envision if Cohen the Barbarian were a factory worker. He's a small guy, thin and wiry. Like Slim Pickins, he's probably looked old forever. He's thoughtful (if he works on Saturday morning he always brings donuts in for everyone) and dedicated (if it's needed he always works Saturdays and overtime).

His brother died early last week while at work. It was either a heart attack or massive stroke. He wasn't in on Saturday because that was the day of the viewing at the funeral home and the funeral was Sunday. This morning he was back in 45 minutes early and stayed until his twelve hours was up.

Sometimes I think we distinctly resemble oxen, put us in a team and put a massive load behind us an we'll pull just because we can.
