reading (Driving Blind)
Nov. 19th, 2006 05:41 pmI finished Ray Bradbury's "Driving Blind" this afternoon. It's a stronger collection than "Quicker Than the Eye." The stories are well paced and varied. Bradbury's settings are representative of the pictures he can paint from Main Street America to a hot circus tent. "Fee Fie Foe Fum" has a grisly tasteful horror, "House Divided" is sweet and not innocent, "Hello, I must be Going" is sweet as syrupy ectoplasm, just to name a few. If you want a good sample of Bradbury's shorter work or are an addict seeking another hit, this collection serves well.
