yard work, nothin' but yard work

Today was an easy day, which means we ate breakfast before heading out back to work in the yard. The weather was slightly warmer today, but the sun was absent.

We got the stone monument stood up. derien spent a lot of time and energy worrying that I'd kill myself. She really needs more faith. Everything went as planned and at the appropriate moment I gave a gentle push and the block stood up. We put in a couple of steps and used one of the pieces of railroad tie to make some terracing. We also leveled out one of the planting areas. The whole place is shaping up much better now.

I've got to say, I'm amazed at the amount we've been able to get done in a relatively short time. I hope something grows out there besides vines and bamboo!
