Vinyl fetish (No, not that kind of vinyl)

Yesterday we took a pilgrimage down to Portsmouth,NH to do some minor shopping. We stopped by RiverRun bookstore and picked up a few titles. The we browsed through La Roux kitchen.

Last year about this time we went down to a used record store down there (Odyssey & Oracle), so I figured it was about time to go again. Last year the place was kind of messy, had a moderate selection, and okay prices. Unfortunately, this year the selection was worse, the prices where higher, and the store even more dumpy. I did end up picking up some things, but if I was rational I would have walked out empty handed. I won't bother to go again.

Bull Moose had a more orderly selection and I ended up buying a few things there as well. Their prices are never winners, but their product tends to be clean and at least fairly well organized.

On the way back we stopped in Portland at Enterprise Records. The store was as clean and organized as any used record store can be. The selection was good. The prices were reasonable. This just reinforced what I already thought of Enterprise, a good local business.

Now I have a bunch of stuff to clean and more reasons to get the high quality digitizing system set up in an orderly manner.

reading (The Trial)

I finished reading "The Trial" a couple of days ago. It's reputation preceded it. I must admit for the most part my experience with 'The Trial' is similar to that of a cow and a passing train. Maybe my brain has already turned to mush. It could have been the translation, but I think it was just me.
