sawdust and grease
Aug. 30th, 2020 08:18 pmFriday evening we did a brush burn so that the stacks we had piled up wouldn't get rained on again. It was exhausting after a long work week, but good to get done.
Yesterday was a wash out for outdoor work with steady rain most of the day. But that was predicted, so I spent most of the day in the barn working on organizing in there. I've now got a fair number of tools mounted on the french cleat system. Some of the flat surfaces are visible again. I also moved my now mobile miter saw bench to a better spot by the back window under the stairs. I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of that before, but it was probably because there was a refridgerator there before.
Today I spent most of the day working on the van. I disassembled the passenger side front suspension and started the process of reassembly. It's one of those jobs that can't be done all at once because it takes welding, so I have to disassemble, get things arranged, get the welding done, then reassemble. It will also take longer becuase I broke the brake line during the process, so now I have to replace that. That hard line was pretty sketchy and the flexible line above it is also pretty sketchy, so it's a good time to replace both. I hope I can get the disassembly of the other side done during the evenings this week, but getting much done in the evenings is getting harder as the days get shorter.
