I didn't use foul language

In the old days some of the people I worked with wouldn't open an email I sent after 7pm without having a stiff drink first. I think my ability to write those really, really cutting emails that make the recipient want to crawl in a hole, kill themselves, or both has atrophied. I'm just too laid back now.

Excerpt from today's email to the landlord's "tenant relations" mailbox:

" I don't want another nasty note from a rude maintenance person. I want the heat that is part of your obligation under the lease. An apology for the complete disrespect we've received from maintenance staff around this issue wouldn't be out of order either. Don't count on us signing on for year 6 at this rate."

I'm just too mellow these days. I couldn't scare a five year old with their arm up to the elbow in the cookie jar.
