peppers
Here is a picture of the Cayenne plant, my most prolific pepper so far this year. You can just see the top of the support structure I've built for him. Sometimes when you reach for the sky you do a lot of falling over. You can see the three largest peppers in this shot, plus a few of the babies hanging out along the edges.
This the is pretty shiny jalepenos. The bottom one is starting to get a little longer, but they've been growing pretty slowly. I'm amazed the plant can support such fruit at all because it doesn't have many leaves. It does have a good stiff stalk.
A shot of the jalepeno and the basil plant. The basil got really leggy right off, but now is sprouting all kinds of little leaves down low.
A shot of the cayenne and the ancho (pablano) pepper plant. Ancho is a mild pepper with a fairly thick fruit. Thick fruit peppers tend to bother my stomach, but the flavor of the anchos is wonderful, rich, and distinct. So I'll hope for a few peppers and put just a little in my dishes. You also get a fair shot of one of the kitchen speakers.
Not pictured are the two thai hot pepper plants. They are in the other room in isolation because something is eating them.
Now I've got to figure out if I want to take the first two peppers off the cayanne or wait a little longer. If I take them early and often the plant should produce more, but I don't want to steal them too early.
