reading (Going Solo)

I finished reading Roald Dahl's "Going Solo" earlier in the week. It's amazing Roald survived to write at all, considering his adventures. The book manages to show the futility of war without preaching it and show the heroism of individuals without patriotic drumbeats. The narrative is simple and straightforward without being boring or simplistic. As a book written for younger audiences, I think would be a fine non-fiction selection. As an adult, it's a fun easy read with some history thrown in for good measure.

37. Roald Dahl "Going Solo"
