The slight sore throat which I thought would be obliterated by rest and vit. C Friday afternoon, taught me a lesson in hubris. Friday night I slept little at all which is extremely unusual for me. Yesterday every time I started to slowly do things around the house I would begin hiccuping. It wasn't until I was done with the very few things I had on my must do list and sat down that I realized this was just my body telling me not to move. As long as I didn't move, the hiccups were gone. Try to do anything vertical for more than five minutes, the reflex would start up again. Sinuses in full swing, occasional cough, body aches like elephants trying to do deep tissue massage.

Rather than face another sleepless night I took a small pharmacy and went to bed shortly after 7pm. It was gross night, but I slept an hour or so at a time until morning, which was a blessed relief.

Today I'm walking around with my thick bathrobe on. Also, wool socks, bluejeans, underwear, t-shirt, and a hat. I've spent most of the day sitting in the sleeping bag with the heated sock full of rice. For the most part I still can't get warm. Even bubbling hot and sour soup in a bowl too hot to hold only brought me up to the "been dead a day" temperature. Sinuses still in full swing, cough diminished but still threatening, body aches humming along like a gang of thugs who have sticks and love them.

It's very frustrating because I have ambition, but I can't do anything physical because of ache and fatigue and can't do anything mental because my brain is only capable of vaguely wandering 'round in circles. It's like thinking with neurons of taffy. A three day weekend and I can't do and can't think, arrrggggg!
