reading (Wind in the Willows)

I finished Kenneth Grahame's "Wind in the Willows" last Wednesday. Somehow, I'd never encountered it before in written form, although I have gone on "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" at Disney and I've seen bits of the stories on television. Generally, I found it to be a good story with the right mixture of lessons, fun, and detailed description. The exception is the two chapters that feel tacked on: "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" and "Wayfarers All". The former cost me a day of reading time because I had to keep putting the book down and walking away. Still, this is a good book for kids who are getting into more words without too much plot for digestion.
