I finished this collection about a week ago, but haven't gotten around to writing about it yet. After a couple of less than fun books, this book was a good diversion. The short stories represent the less reprinted items in a huge swath of Asimov's writing career. As the less reprinted stuff, some of them aren't Isaac's top shelf stuff, but still it's a treat to read. He let himself play with his short stories, experimenting with different methods and ideas. I never notice what it is I like about Asimov's stories, but I eat them up. I also enjoy the autobiographic interludes in between the stories, they provide personal and historical context to the stories.

Random trivia: The final story in the collection was written in just 2 1/2 hours from start to envelop to publisher. It's only a short story, but still, it's a story (5 paperback pages).
