time flies like an arrow

So this is the last day of vacation, tomorrow it's back to work (from home).
Today I slept in, well relatively, I slept an extra hour. I tried The first project of the morning was finishing up the installation of the new rear bumper. That went fairly smoothly and I took my time to get everything right. Then I started on the front bumper. Removal of the old bumper was easier than the rear, things weren't rusted together so badly. Putting the front bumper on took a lot of time. There was drilling involved so we did a lot of checking and rechecking. I hate drilling holes in the van because it's one of those things you can't undo. Some of the new holes partially overlapped but didn't completely match some existing holes, so the holes aren't perfect. But there were no major botches, just some finish work with the file to get bolts to line up through multiple holes and layers. When that was done I spent some time disassembling the parts of the old bumpers. The chrome bumpers will go to recycling because they are all beat up and no one would want to use them. Some of the other bits I've added to my pile of parts to give away some day. There is now more space in the barn (the new bumpers were taking up a good chunk of the floor) and my number of outstanding projects has dropped a fair amount in the last week. I still have a grey water tank, new fridge, and propane heater to install. Still have wiring for the stereo and the lightpod once the wire I'm going to be using for the spearkers arrives. Also still have the horn upgrade to finish once the last of the parts arrive.
I had a huge list of things to do at the start of vacation. And I did a lot of things that weren't actually on that list. I still have a huge list. I've heard that there are some people who get bored when they retire. Right now that's pretty hard to concieve of.
