Looking back at the books I read in 2020, it was a very mixed bag. Most years there is a pretty normal difficulty distribution with a few really long or difficult books, a few really short or easy books, and a lot of average books. 2020 seemed to be a year of extremes, which is fitting for the year as a whole. I only ended up finishing 36 books, but a fair number of them had been on the bookshelves unread for a very long time. The hardest to get through wasn't long, "Ash: An East Kent Village" just felt very long. The first volume of the Collected Stories of Roger Zelazny was probably the longest book I read this year, but it didn't feel like it.

To start this year I'm continuing to clean off the items that have acquired a lot of dust on the bookshelves. We'll see how many I can get through before I resort to re-reads of favorites or other fun stuff.
