Over the last two months I've been making a concerted effort to reduce our electric consumption. It had been creeping up mainly because of laziness. The bill was also creeping up because of rate and tax increases.
During the last billing cycle we used 30% less electricity than we used in the December billing cycle. Considering it's winter and we have to have the lights on most of the time we're home, that's pretty amazing. The bill only dropped by about 10% because the power company is like that. I feel good about it, because most of it is just remembering to turn things off when I'm done using them. As Benton Frasier says, "it only takes a minute..."
