We picked up the van on Tuesday. The exterior looks really nice at first glance, but I haven't gone over it with the fine tooth comb yet. Everyone who's seen it has commented on how good it looks.

The interior on the other hand is a mess. It was pretty bad when it went away for the paint job. Since then, three months of dirt have accumulated. Also they weren't very careful with covering everything so there were some things that got hit with overspray. Incidentally, did you know that paint overspray sticks on a non-stick pan. Oh, and the amplifier bits of the stereo had a problem with component failure and corrosion. This wasn't the fault of the bodyshop, it was the fault of seven years of moisture and temperature extremes.

So today I worked on the van almost all day. I haven't actually gotten anything finished other than installing the new stereo. I've got all kinds of other things torn apart or started. I'll claim the lack of completion not on ADD, but an intention to prevent repetitive motion injuries by switching tasks frequently. My hands are pretty much tenderized by abrasion and chemical burns. But my fingernails are incredibly clean.

I need a van icon. Or two, one for when it's running and one for when it's not.
