The weekend

eorIt has been a perfect three day weekend.
Saturday we got up at a relatively decent hour and set off on the annual pilgrimage to the graveyards. For the past decade or so I've gone each year to put flowers on my grandparents' grave. This year we added![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
derien's grandparents' to the ritual. It was a warm sunny day, perfect for such things. We stopped at a total of five cemeteries for various reasons. We sat in the car and watched the rain fall for a while at one point and generally had a good day out and about together.
Yesterday I cleaned the house whilederien did the laundry. Then we went out to the headlight and flew kites for about three hours. It was a beautiful day and the breeze and bird songs were coming through the windows all day. Nextdoor the neighbors have all their windows closed and their air conditioner on. People don't even realize what they miss.
Today I spend finishing the previously mentioned philosophy book, house cleaning, and scanningderien's ancestors diaries. I still have one and a half books to do. Might be able to get them done this week or not.
This all sounds really boring, but it was actually an excellent weekend filled with green, warm, sun, contentment, and activity.
Oh, at some point we also watched the Dalek episode of the not-quite-new Doctor. Can the Doctor pine any more for... well, everything? I liked the shiny gold and black Dalek armor though.
