Summer in Siam Maine
Jun. 25th, 2003 06:36 pmWell, summer has finally come to Maine. For the last few days I've been inspired by sunshine and warm temperatures to work on the van. Stove, sink, fridge, and water are all back in top condition. Countertops and cabinets have been thoroughly cleaned. The upper ball joint that was threatening to go has been replaced. A wash and wax and it should be ready to go. My parents are going to take it down to the beach for a week. After that I will probably find a weekend or two to slip away into the mountains.
The other night I made a lasagna with no-boil rice noodles. I was quite skeptical about the whole no boil thing, but I was pleasantly surprised. They didn't taste like wheat based lasagna noodles, but the flavor went well with the rest of the ingredients. The leftovers didn't last long at all.
Tonight it's back to the regular curry diet. I'm torn between a madras and a mild potato curry. Although I may do something entirely different, it's hard to say.
