I turned it on to test it, then smelled smoke and saw flame. So I turned it off, blew the flame out, unplugged it, and tore apart the area that I hadn't previously opened (the heater) and cleaned it. All the moving and shaking had caused some of the dryer fluff to fall into the heater coils. Four hours later, it's back together, cleaned from stem to stern and once again operational.
Today's accomplishment was not without price. I was just starting to do the reassembly when the tool I was using folded up with my finger between two bits of it. I am not into body modification and even if I were I'd probably choose something different that fingernail piercing. Fortunately, it bled profusely so there is less risk of infection and less risk that the fingernail will fall off. It wasn't at all pleasant to have to complete the reassembly, then the next disassembly, then the last reassembly with one hand.
In other news, this week I managed to get a little progress on the record cleaning. Work is mind blowingly busy. I finished book #3 for the year and need to post a review. I am learning to do amazing maneuvers in Rise of Flight, but I've yet to shoot down any enemy aircraft and my most spectacular kills involve running into objects headlong. I really like flying the biplanes though! Flying between trees! I want to go under a bridge next. I have finally given in and set up a dreamwidth account; same bat name, different bat channel.
