Got up early again to try to get something done before the day got too hot. I did get out and down to work on pulling rose and honeysuckle from the bottom of the property between the septic and the perimeter walking path. I finished pulling up the roses and the honeysuckle from that area. There are still some more honeysuckle a little ways away, but a good swath is now cleared of those agressive species. The area is full of buckthorns, which were doing battle with the rose and generally losing, but those will be a project for another time. I carefully stepped around the little maples that were trying to grow down there. I'd like to see more of them grow up. Plus there is now room for the Cornelian cherries and elderberries we have down there to grow in peace. After that I cleaned up some of the bamboo which Derien had pulled the other day, she finished up that task a little later in the day.

The rest of the day I spent doing little things in the van. I cleaned up the wiring to the water pump, it had a meaningless splice in the wires which was held together by wire nuts covered in electrical tape which had become very gooey. It also had about 10 feet of extra wire, so I trimmed that off cleaned up the connections and put things back together. I also changed out the 110v electrical outlet with a new Leviton outlet with two USB ports. With all the modern devices, it's nice having ports powered by the 110v side as well as the 12v side. I prepped some of the wire for my planned horn upgrade (3 stock horns powered using a relay), still waiting for some of the parts for that. I got the old rear bumper pulled off, some of the plastic bits were held on by completely rusted bolts, so those bits won't be good for anyone anymore. Started on getting the new bumper put on, but ran out of time and patience, so that will have to wait until tomorrow at least.

While I was messing around with that Derien was weeding in the flower beds and scraping and priming the clothsline posts.

All in all it was a fairly productive day despite being scorching hot.
