favorite books
Jan. 9th, 2008 08:48 pmI'm trying to sort in my mind my favorite books. It's tough, but I've come up with a preliminary list.
A list of books you really should read:
Joseph Heller "Catch-22"
Ken Kensey "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"
Margaret Atwood "The Handmaid's Tale"
Ray Bradbury "I Sing the Body Electric"
Alfred Bester "The Demolished Man"
Alfred Bester "The Stars My Destination"
Walter M. Miller Jr. "A Canticle for Leibowitz"
Robert Heinlein "The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag"
Robert Heinlein "Stranger in a Strange Land"
Robert Heinlein "Job: A Comedy of Justice"
William Gibson "Neuromancer"
Christopher Moore "The Lust Lizard"
Roger Zelazny "If At Faust You Don't Suceed" (picking Zelazny is tough because he does such varied stuff)
Terry Pratchett "Small Gods"
Lewis Carroll "Alice in Wonderland" (esp. the annotated version)
various "Future Boston"
A. A. Milne "The World of Pooh"
Arthur Conan Doyle "The Celebrated Cases of Sherlock Holmes"
William Shakespeare "The Complete Works"
So LJ people, what are your favorite/must read books?
