...I will be flat on my ass. Well, almost, I have to walk down to the pharmacy in a few minutes. But after that my feet are purely decorative. And very decorative they are. You see, today when I went to the podiatrist and he looked at my toes he said, "what are you doing this weekend?" I boggled and he explained that he could do the operation today and I could spend the weekend recovering.


Unlike the last podiatrist he saw no problem at all with doing both big toes at once. He also saw no problem with me driving home. Or stuffing my abused feet into the shoes I happened to have along.

Tomorrow morning I take the dressings off. Then I'll have an idea of what kind of job he did. Of course, the real results won't show for months and months when those parts of my nails start growing normally, or not. I have struggled so long with these nails, it's only a vague dream that there will be a time when I don't have to do my own primitive surgeries every couple weeks.


Now my two big toes look like they're ready for the lead role in "The Mummy" and I'm off to get drugs. Later, if you want me, I'll be playing Civilization ruling the world.
