Ms. Montagu must have been a very nasty person, for I would not wish the gout on anyone. I have been enduring such a visitation for about three weeks. My recent absence is almost entirely attributed to the fact that lying in bed was the only moderately comfortable position and after sitting at work all day I wasn't about to sit in a chair when I got home. Now I can walk almost without pain. It's a wonderful treat to be semi-ambulatory.
