who needs a gym

I expect a break from the yard work today due to rain, but so far it has remained fair. So I started with some picking away pulling up little bits of bamboo/knotweed near the lawn. Then I went in and got the machete and started in earnest. Swinging a machette for two hours is an excellent workout. I cleared out an area maybe 15ft on a side and produced two large piles of cut shoots. Most of the shoots were well over 6 feet and many had a diameter around 2 inches at the base. I switched off from left arm to right, but I think my shoulders and neck will probably still be sore tomorrow morning. If it isn't actively pouring I'll try to do more tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday.

The neighbors probably think I'm a total nutcase, but then again, people rarely disagree with a man who's wielding a blade as long as their arm.

This yard work thing is better than any gym.
