low angst level

eorI think I'm suffering from an angst deficiency. I don't feel the need to drink, write bad poetry, or listen to music with all the lights off.
During my free time I've been cooking, doing some chainmail, and working on my mp3 player/ripper/recorder.

derien's mini skirt done. It weighs about 6lbs now and is long enough to be viewed in public (European 4 in 1, 12ga 3/8ID rings). If I had it to do all over again I'd use bright aluminum instead of regular aluminum, the black oxidation that comes off regular aluminum is irritating. I'd also order enough rings to complete it all at once because the different batches of rings look different which makes an interesting line 3/4 of the way down the skirt. I don't mind working in the 12ga AL rings. They look clunky, but they aren't that bad to knit.
I've resumed work on the "lace" skirt that I was making. It's basically a project to use up some acid etched aluminum rings that I don't really like. The acid etched is bright white so I figure a loose weave will give the impression of light, lacy chainmail.
I gave up on my third attempt at a self supporting purse. European 8 in 2 almost made it, but after getting half way done I decided it didn't have the rigidity I wanted. I'll probably pick it up again at some point, but for right now it's going back to the land of misfit toys.
I had to fix some bugs in the mp3 player. It wasn't liking certain discs. I had to fix some of the code for handling album names so apostrophes in album or group names would pass through correctly. Then I had to fix the code for the ripping of CD's with various artists.
I've almost got the system ready to test writing out music CD's from a playlist. I've also started to make it so the system will interact with a (yet to be named) portable mp3 player device. My plan is to be able to build playlists in the home system and either write them to an audio CD, write them to a CD as mp3s, or export them and the playlist to a USB compatible mp3 player.
In the meantime, I've got 40 ska CD's I'm encoding onto the system. Looks like I might need a larger hard drive if I get many more CD's. My 60gig data drive is at 75%.
Oh, it looks like the latest problem with the van was battery failure. That may be a symptom of other problems or it might just have been that the battery. We'll see what the next few weeks bring.
