Are there small businesses you'd like to support but don't know what is appropriate? If a retailer has online ordering, is it more of a burden for them to have no orders flowing in or have orders that they are struggling to fulfill while keeping their employees safe?

A lot of small retailers are trying to balance between locking down to keep their employees safe and staying open to give their employees paychecks. Many are still fulfilling orders and giving turn around times way better than Amazon. Some are reaching out for loans, others starting up Go Fund Me pages. Personally, I don't like the Go Fund Me approach. I'd much prefer to support businesses by buying from the business and helping them succeed as a business.

If a small business you'd like to support has online gift cards, these are the ultimate way to support them today. Buy the gift card for yourself or a friend. Unlike actual purchases, the business doesn't have to fulfill the order before they can get the cash. Plus, if you buy the gift card and have it sent to a friend, you've supported the business and expanded their customer file while giving a gift to someone you like!

Buy gift cards today. Use them when this madness has died down and the business can safely fulfill the order.

If you do order something online from a small vendor, consider putting a note in the comments something akin to "Non-emergency. Deliver at your leisure. Stay safe."
