This morning while getting ready to go outside, I looked out the window and saw snow flurries. That didn't stop me from going outside. The flurries stopped after a bit and we didn't get any accumulation at all. Although this afternoon the wind picked up and it was as chill as Jeff Bezos' heart.
Today there isn't a long list of accomplishments because we started off with one Sisyphean task and then I went on to another Sisyphean task. First it was weeding the flower beds by the driveway. There are three sections. I started with the middle and smallest. Did manage to get that finished up, then started on the left one, which is the worst because the center of it was filled with grass. Ended up digging up the identifiable flower bulbs then tilling the area with the grass. The rock wall had to be torn apart and reassembled one rock at a time to get the grass out from around the rocks. Still a lot of bulbs to go back in, but the ends look pretty clean and we've taken out a couple wheelbarrows of compost/weeds.
The second task of the day was getting the sand off the lawn. I've now got 6 bird feed bags (reduce, reuse, recycle) filled with enough sand that I can just lift them. Those will get transported down to The Pit, the area we stared filling with rotten wood last year. The sand will fill in nooks and crannies in The Pit and perhaps someday help to make soil out of the mess once the wood and leaves break down. There is still a lot more sand to go, but I feel like I've made a good start on it.
As soon as I feel sufficiently recharged I'm going to go out to the garage and change the tires on Derien's car.
The two gift cards I bought for small independent businesses have been delivered to their respective recipients, so yay for supporting independents!
