sometimes you win

So today was an ordinary work day, so not much to report on the home front. But after work I did get out and clean up some slimy dock that was going to seed in one area of the yard. Slimy dock is some form of dock, definitely not burdock. Slimy dock tends to grow a central stalk sooner than burdock and when you try to pull it is tends to just turn to slime in your hands preventing you from effectively pulling it. Today I didn't bother to try to pull it, just cut it off at the base.
After getting chased out of the area by bugs I came back into the house just in time for packages to arrive. Including the new bushing for Derien's Fiat shift cable. I was pretty psyched when I was able to quickly disassemble everything without anything breaking. I removed the remnants of the old bushing, pressed the new one in with surprising ease, reattached the parts, put everything back together, and took a test drive. It had taken less than two hours and $35. The dealership had quoted her $500, so it was a good evenings work.
Then I wasted the rest of the night reading things on the Internet. Bah, can't win them all.
