ring wraiths
Feb. 18th, 2002 02:53 pmThe following is a bit that came from a email discussion of the LOTR movie, specifically the violence and evilness portraid.
"I think the violence and evil are meant to be unsettling in LOTR. ... I loved the picture progression of the ground around the tower. When Gandalf first rides in, there is beauty, miles of trees and green, a place you'd really like to be. Then you see the progressive destruction as every resource is plundered in the raising of armies. Toward the end, seen from above there is nothing but barren charred earth. It's definitely not a pretty thought, but very real."
Last night our internet connection was really flakey. It looks like it was within AT&T's system, most likely just our ring. I guess the ring wraiths were active.
