This vacation week has been filled with projects.

My right knee is still bothering me from the trek up Mt. Washington. I think driving is what irritates it the most. Standing is okay. Sitting is sometimes okay. Walking I have to be very careful. It has put a damper on my plans for this week, but has allowed me to focus on things I wouldn't have done normally.

On Saturday, I swapped hard drives around and put a new one in the server. While I was at it I upgraded the OS and rebuilt everything. Then for some reason I took it upon myself to figure out how to get Subversion, a revision control system, up and running.

Yesterday I took on my first sewing project. It was nothing worthy of [livejournal.com profile] noelfigart, but it was the first time I've used the Singer 99 I got last year. I made an easy little tunic, which I think came out pretty well. The 70 year old Singer was up to the task.

Today I finally finished The Purse rev. 4. The hardest part was joining the sides. The bottom, which I thought would be a real pain turned out relatively easy. I am pleased with the results. It has a leather strap which may someday be replaced by a spiral chain. Pictures are available here and here.

I can now see most of the surface of my desk again.

I'm now better than halfway through Jules Verne's From the Earth to the Moon and Round the Moon It's quite funny. I'm sure parts of it are intentionally so but I wonder how much.
