Jan. 19th, 2005 08:28 pmI've been thinking about trips I want to take this year and things I want to do. It occurs to me that other people may be doing the same thing. If any of you are interesting in coming to visit us in the great city of Portland, Maine, please let us know when you're thinking of. Our circumstances have changed in the last year so visits are not as convenient as they were at our last apartment. We don't have a guest room so accommodations are limited. You'll either have to sleep on the couch in the room with the loud cat or share our rather palatial bed. Very few people will be welcome to the latter even on a platonic basis, so the couch is the thing. It's a nice couch and comfy, but the cat is obnoxious.
That said, we are delighted to see friends.
Some things you should know should you choose to visit
Eor's Standard Guidelines
We are geeks. Our idea of hospitality is letting you in and maybe showing you where to find food, bathroom, and computers. It's not that we don't like people, it's just how we are.
If you are a vegetarian and plan on eating you might want to bring something you like. If you don't, good luck hunting for something to eat. There might be something in the back of the cupboard with an inch of dust on it.
If you are a vegetarian who can't be around when people eat meat, let us know. We will try to dine before you arrive. It's not our intention to make you suffer and it's not our intention to fast. We get very grumpy when we're hungry.
If you are easily offended don't worry. We have the technology to offend you wherever you are. You don't need to come to us, we'll handle the job remotely.
If you'd like to criticize our (lifestyle, housekeeping, pets, proportions, diet, etc) we'll save you the travel time. We can send you a list of all the salient points so you don't have to do the field research.
If you'd like to hang out, maybe go for a walk, maybe go dancing, feel free to stop by.
