Thursday night we arrived well after dark and set up the tarp and tent by headlamp and flashlight. We are getting pretty good at doing this and the fact that it wasn't raining made it a bit easier. After the tend was set up we grabbed the sleeping bags, camera, tripod, and hiked up to a sekrit spot where we could see the sky. The sky cooperated somewhat by starting out partly cloudy. We got to see some meteors and lay there in the dark looking up at the stars. I dug out the camera and tried to take pictures of the night sky. I had limited success in that, but hey dark and cameras don't generally get along. The clouds rolled in and the temp dropped so we decided to hike back down and sleep in our cozy little tent.

Dawn greeted us with barking dogs, screaming kids, and lots of sunshine. I didn't mind the sunshine.

Our sum total activity for Friday consisted of eating, reading in the sun, a walk down to the river for some sitting in the sun, a nap, more eating, drinking tequila, and singing in the tent while the rain fell outside.

Saturday we woke to another sunny morning. We did the usual drink tea, eat, and move slowly thing. Then we took a hike around Boulder Loop Trail which is the short trail right near the campground. We saw a hawk, lots of fungus, and a couple of cute girls. I fed Doe fresh picked blueberries that we found along the trail. After a short rest we packed up the gear to the incessant barking of the dog in the next site. I won't miss the dog.
