This week I had a hard time maintaining the pace on the chainmaille project. I made the mistake of taking Tuesday off, ostensibly to rest my muscles. That broke the steady habit I had developed and made it harder to start back in. Today I made up for slacking and got the pieces Wed & Thurs stitched in as well as weaving a today's piece. I still have a long way to go and the going is going to get harder. Sometime tomorrow I'll run out of prep'd rings. I've got lots more rings, but having to open and close them all will slow me down.

For most of the last week I've been working steadily on my next chainmaille project. I'm not sure exactly what it's going to be yet, but that doesn't keep me from working on it. I'm making sheets of European 4 in 1, trying to do a piece 2 x 11 inches each day. That may not sound like much, but with the rings I'm using, it's over 1,000 rings weaved per day. I work on it for a while, then do something else for a while to minimize the repetitive motion damage. So far my right hand is just mildly resentful (not in full rebellion) and my left wrist is contentedly humming to itself.

Will it be a skirt, a vest, a shirt or a hauberk? It all depends on how much coverage I can get out of the rings I have available.
