This weekend has been a study in contrasts. Yesterday everything I touched went wrong, but because I'm pigheaded, I insisted on trying to get things done. Today, I didn't really try to get much done, but everything I tried I accomplished to some degree or other. Two beautiful sunny days: one wasted in frustration, one mostly blissfully wasted.

Friday evening I made the mistake on starting a project I just not have started. I decided I was going to make new panels to replace the damaged ones in the interior of the van. Big mistake. It's a huge project, I've got too many irons in the fire at present, I'm generally tired because of my current evil diet, and I'm generally negative because people I know keep dying. Let's take on something big and overwhelming and see if we can get completely demoralized, shall we? After a day and a half, I decided to shove the entire project into the back of the closet and not face it again until I'm really bored and energetic.

To make up for that I went out for a drink with [livejournal.com profile] derien in the late evening. Then just to make sure, I slept late this morning. Then did not much (except eating tacos for breakfast) until noon. We cleaned the remnants of the project out of the van, took it for a vacuum and a wash, then went out to the headlight to enjoy the beautiful day. It was a beautiful day, so much so we didn't want to leave. When we got back [livejournal.com profile] derien went out for a walk and I started on a new recipe. Now I'm full, tired, but contented with a sunny day well spent.

Note the icon, this is the van in it's newly painted state.
