Yesterday I finished the October/November double issue of Asimov's. 'Twas some thick, with 2 novellas, 2 novelettes, and 6 short stories. The issue seemed to be divided so that each month could feel represented. Some of the shorter works were Halloween style creepy or scary. The longer fiction was lighter and brighter for the most part. Biodad was a real creepfest and some of the bits of Foster reminded me of Bradbury. I found subplot the author may not have intended in "A Billion Eves." It's hard to name a favorite in this one because the stories are quite diverse and have very different appeal. Which part is better the sweet or the sour in sweet and sour pork?
