I finished "Breakfast of Champions" in just under 24 hours. It's the first Kurt Vonnegut I've read, so I can't compare it with his other works.
I found it to be a fun farce. The societal criticism is over the top. The story, characters, and incidental bits are downright silly in places. While I was reading it I felt I could see how he had constructed the book to look constructed and the intentionalness of his chaos, but this didn't make the book less enjoyable or the chaos less effective.
