It doesn't need to be sunny if you're listening to Jimmy Buffet and drinking rum drinks. Sun helps, but it's optional.

In the news, tomorrow night is my last night on 3rd shift (for a while, maybe forever). I got a trainer position in the Portland facility that will be primarily 1st shift with a little second shift in the last part of the year. I'm psyched. It will be so nice to be awake for afternoons and evenings again. Not to mention getting to sleep with my honey again.

Work is progressing, albeit slowly, on the latest incarnation of the chainmail purse. All indications are still positive. I've now got about 8 rows of the sides done and the piece does stand up on its own. I've still got a long way to go, but at least this time it's not a shapeless lump.

I have been busy for the last week dealing with relatives. It's going to be about three weeks of continuous visits by various and sundry relatives, containing various and sundry activities. I am happy to get to see them, but it is stressful because scheduling is challenging. Also, I'm a hermit.

The last two nights at work I've been on the Aerobic Exercise From Hell assignments. I'm in pretty good shape, but that kind of work would leave a triathlete shagged. I'm ready for a nice long sleep and today's grey skies will facilitate that nicely. Hey, somebody has to appreciate grey miserable weather or it will get depressed over the lack of affection. Think about it, overcast weather must have S.A.D. because it never sees sunlight.

Oh, what is it with animals lately, everyone has an animal story. We've got raccoons in the wilds of CT. We've got cat pee in Cali. We've got neglect in Portland. Maybe I should sally into the fray. Paula is... laying on the couch sleeping. When she's not doing that you can assume she's wandering around the house yowling in a way that can wake you from a sound sleep and usually does. Lately she has all the charm of a seasick crocodile. (now where did I get that one from?)
