Being sick gave me the opportunity, or forced me depending on your perspective, to listen to several speeches and interviews this week.

( I got to hear a piece on NPR quoting various US and Interim-Iraqi government officials on how elections in Iraq could still be held in January. )

( I got to hear a speech by Senator Byrd made in July. )

My mom is packing the car headed inland. My sister is no doubt putting plywood on the windows and filling water jugs. Jeanne's coming to town.
