The other day I heard the intro to a radio story that said, "for some men, and women, work is the good part (of life)". That struck me because I know it's true. There are people I know at work who probably fit that description. That's so wrong.

Now generally I think I have a pretty good job. The company isn't horrid, mostly they are quite good. The people I work with are really pretty nice. But if being at work is better than being outside work something is terribly wrong. There is so much more to life.

Three people celebrating their annual escape from high school. Alcohol. Automobile. Police lights.

At this point a mature line of thought would be, "this will suck. I'm going to spend the night in jail." Unfortunately the mind isn't always mature. The thought was along the lines of "oh, if I outrun him maybe I can get away with it."

Large pine tree.

The End.

Life isn't fair. Some people are allowed to make a mistake and learn from it. Others don't get the opportunity to learn. Those three people will never have the luxury of another mistake.

Sorry to spam the f-list today, but this is the only time this week I'll have a chance to post so a weeks worth of "well I should post that" is getting out at once.

I finished Khaled Hosseini's "The Kite Runner" earlier this week less than 48 hours after I started it. The story sucked me in quite well. It isn't exactly a happy book, but I think it is a good read. There are a couple of points that I felt the action either was unlikely or out of character, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.

This weekend we're headed back out to the mountains for some more camping. I've made some adjustments in what we're taking with us. Hopefully we'll have a bit more of what we need and a bit less of what we don't.
