the weekend in review
Jul. 10th, 2006 09:29 pmThis weekend was just plain packed.
Butonquail (who is now
cyberquail) arrived on Friday evening,
derien's brother arrived Saturday around noon, and her mom was here on and off all weekend as well. Much was done. Much was eaten.
We had a grand Indian food feast on Saturday. First we got supplies at the farmers market and various stores. Then
cyberquail and I cooked a huge meal for everyone. I'm still happily eating the leftovers. When we had recovered movement, we went to a move then to see Leon Redbone play. We came back home and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning talking.
On Sunday we enjoyed a slow day, the sun, flew kites,
cyberquail prepared a pork roast with sake and soy sauce and I threw together some quick spuds to go along.
In the out of the ordinary department, I fitted a chainmaille skirt for
cyberquail. This revision of the design allows the wearer to get out of the skirt without the help of a lady's maid, it goes on over the head and off over the hips(whereas
derien's version of that skirt requires help or a contortionists skill to get out of it). I was surprised how quickly I was able to make it fit right.
It was a wonderful weekend.
