reading (Asimov's April/May)
Apr. 15th, 2008 10:06 pmI finished the April/May double issue of Asimov's last night. This was a large issue with seven short stories, three novelettes, a novella, and a generous portion of poetry. "An Art, Like Everything Else" was sweet and sad. I think it is the first story I've seen that accurately portrayed what cooperatively programmed virtual realities might feel like from the inside. It was nice to return to the same universe as "Diving the Wreck" in "The Room of Lost Souls". "The Advocate" was clever and creepy. Overall a good variety.
