what I've been doing with my life

My life this week has basically consisted of driving to work, working, driving home and sleeping. Now, this may sound horrible, but the work is actually providing me with the opportunity to teach myself new things, re-sharpen some of the skills that have gotten rusty, and get paid for it. By the end of December I'm going to want things to be under control as far as the schedule goes, but for now I'm putting in 60 hours a week. This has meant, and will mean, a certain sacrifice in leisure time. Alright, a huge f'ing hit to leisure time.
The sleeping I generally like, but for the last couple weeks I've been plagued by racing brain syndrome. I'll be kind of almost asleep for large portions of the night with my brain racing but repeating the same thoughts and accompanied by the same tiny bit of song lyric. The song lyric and the thoughts will be in a pitched battle for supremacy. The thoughts are generally just a tiny bit of some problem at work, something I have to do around the house, or some project I'm working on at home. It seems to go on for hours with no resolution, neither waking up or falling back into proper sleep. I really need to stop thinking.
