it doesn't feel like Sunday
Nov. 23rd, 2003 05:14 pmI couldn't help but notice the headlines the other day, scores of people killed in Istanbul hundreds wounded and the lead headline was about a pop star being arrested. This society needs help. My deepest sympathies to those in Turkey who were injured or lost loved ones.
Yesterday I worked eight hours of overtime. The season is beginning and it will be overtime from now until Christmas. I'm tired but glad for the chance to make some more money. We have had lots of unexpected bills lately which need to be taken care of.
The remainder of this weekend was dedicated to catching up on things that needed to be done. I made up a batch of curry sauce on Friday night, a good meal, and did a bunch of dishes. Yesterday I changed the plugs, distributor, rotor, and fuel filter in the van and did more dishes. Today I did some cleaning up around the homestead, changed the oxygen sensor in the van, and filled the van up with fuel injector cleaner and gas. The van has been running less and less consistently for a while. We'll see if the current changes solve the problems.
Lately I've been noticing that I'm growing more solid. I have only lost about 3 pounds in the last month or two but there has been some significant redistribution. I don't think I'll ever lose my Buddha belly, but my love handles appear to be an endangered species. It feels as if I'm slowly growing healthier in general. This might be from the increased exercise or the non-destructive diet. Either way, I'll take what I can get: fewer aches, fewer ailments, less depression, more energy.
