Mar. 25th, 2004 07:36 am"Tired eyes on the sunrise,
waiting for the eastern glow."
Late night DJ's play the same songs nearly every night. They aren't the same songs as the daytime DJ's, but many of the same songs come up night after night. The Battle of Evermore has always been my favorite song of Led Zeppelin IV so I don't mind that if they earworm me with it. I used to have it on cassette and with a side switch I could listen to Evermore and Going to California in succession nearly endlessly. The fact that they choose to play Dr. Jimmy, of all the things off Quadrophenia just goes to show that they're stretching their FCC chain as far as they can. Of course, Golden Earring's "Radar Love" is mandatory between three and four AM. I understand they are required to, but do they have any idea how much it sucks to have to be just getting going at work at 2am and have them play The Eagles "All Night Long." Yes, we stay up all night long listening to your show because we're trying to make a buck to pay the rent.
I finally finished ripping the ska CD's into the mp3 player. Yesterday I tested out burning an audio CD out. Sure enough, after a bit of tinkering, my first audio CD played fine. So now, making mix CD is as easy as selecting the songs and hitting submit. It wasn't rocket science or anything, but I have time now when I have to be awake, but lack the mental capacity to write (other than code).
Here's one for all you boys and girls out there (
derien. What song does this quote from? "Well, how'd you get that big Harley up on the high dive anyway?"
