Usually I like poetic phrasing. You don't have to be explicit to get your meaning across and sometimes stating something poetically can carry more meaning than being more literal. The poetic can add an emotional component that simple literal word lack. A good example of this is the difference between "honey" and "secretions" (if you have to ask for context on this one, you shouldn't be reading this entry, or probably my journal). However, when a poetic phrase is blatantly inaccurate it drives me crazy.

My current cringe causing word is "womb". If your womb is burning, you might want to seek medical attention. If honey is flowing out of your womb, your lover has probably been way too enthusiastic with the squeeze bottle. You shouldn't be using that internally anyway it can cause yeast infections. Keep it on the outside. But in short, you're not talking about your womb. It's your vagina, or maybe you vulva depending on what you're talking about. If you feel a little less scientific, it might be your pussy, or one of a dozen other terms.
